Senior Technical Projects Manager

Located in Bridgend, South Wales, DST Innovations Ltd (DST) is a privately funded UK Limited Company, trading since 2012.

We are now seeking a Senior Technical Projects Manager to lead and manage the ongoing development of its product portfolio.

Requirements

Managing a project delivery team consisting of electronics and mechanical engineers, alongside material scientists and software engineers, the role will oversee the progression of several large-scale external and internal commercial and research projects.

Key Duties

  • To be the technical lead for all development and commercial projects
  • To undertake site visits, where applicable, before and during project design and implementation
  • To liaise with clients regarding specifications, changes, improvements, and installations
  • To establish full specification requirements to enable creation of full & detailed project brief
  • To work with Executive Team to evaluate commercial viability of projects
  • To assist Supply Manager with identification of suitable supply partners by confirming technical specification
  • To lead team of design engineers, material scientists, and electronics engineers
  • To ensure that management software programmes are current and maintained, with timescales and job-specific actions adhered to
  • To provide regular ad hoc and formal reports as requested by the Executive Team.

The Person Qualifications & Skills

Essential Qualifications, Skills & knowledge
(dependant on experience)

  • Formal Electrical Engineering Qualification
  • Minimum 5 years industrial experience of managing complex multi-phase projects
  • Hands-on experience with industrial and commercial electrical projects including high voltage applications
  • Experience of managing multi-skilled teams
  • Clear communication skills and ability to explain technical issues to non-technical staff
  • IT Literate.

Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge

  • Good understanding of lighting design and related software
  • Understanding of large format display and lighting protocols
  • Knowledge of electronics and software programming (C++, VHDL)
  • Formal Project Management qualification.
